Privacy and accessibility
How HP Energy handles your information and the choices you have.

HP Energy’s BooST privacy statement
HP Energy Pty Ltd manages the City of Boroondara BooST Home Energy Upgrade Program. This statement explains how HP handles information for BooST under its approved Information Privacy and Data Protection Policy and general Information Privacy Policy.
We use contact, service-address, eligibility and relevant home-energy information to respond to enquiries, check eligibility and previous subsidies, arrange assessments and quotes, coordinate authorised work, administer subsidies and provide support and program reporting. We normally obtain information from you. Authorised referrals, providers and Council checks may also supply information needed for these purposes.
Your choices when enquiring
Optional questions can be left unanswered. The form prompts you for any missing details it needs. Without necessary contact, property or eligibility information, we may be unable to respond or provide the requested service. You can browse without entering your details, or call 1300 137 760 for general advice without identifying yourself where practicable.
Use “Submit my enquiry” when you are ready to lodge an enquiry. “Review or add details”, “Finish for now” and saving progress let you manage your answers. A receipt confirms successful online submission; a questionnaire summary is for your reference.
In free-text answers, describe only what is needed to help with your enquiry. For communication or access needs, explain the practical assistance you would like. Please avoid passwords, payment-card or bank-account details, identity-document numbers and unnecessary medical information.
Who may handle your information
We limit use and sharing to what is necessary for authorised BooST activities. Relevant recipients may include Council, assessors, participating installers, quotation and technical providers, and providers of IT, records and customer-support services. Disclosures to third-party program providers require Council’s prior written consent and appropriate privacy safeguards. Information may also need to be disclosed where required by law.
The BooST website uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosting. All BooST program data held by HP and its service providers is stored in Australia. HP’s privacy safeguards and required Council approvals also apply to remote access and support. You can ask HP’s Privacy Officer about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry.
An enquiry does not give permission for unrelated sales campaigns, publicity or testimonials. Optional marketing or publicity requires a separate choice, which you can withdraw by contacting HP.
Protection and recordkeeping
HP’s approved policies require access to be limited to authorised people who need the information, protected systems and sharing methods, appropriate security monitoring, and prompt reporting and handling of privacy incidents. These obligations apply to personnel and service providers handling information for HP.
Program records are retained for authorised service purposes and applicable legal and Council recordkeeping requirements. Retention depends on the record type. Information must be securely disposed of or irreversibly de-identified when disposal is authorised; a request for deletion does not override a lawful retention duty. No website can guarantee that every security risk is eliminated.
Saving progress on your device
Saving is optional and off until you select “Save my progress on this device”. It stores your answers, including contact and property details, in this browser. Only use this option on a device you trust. The website does not encrypt this browser copy, and anyone using the same browser profile may be able to see it.
Saved progress is available for seven days after your last saved change. Expired progress is cleared when you next open this website. Uncheck the save option to remove the stored copy, or choose “Clear saved answers” to remove it and start again. Without saving, closing or refreshing the page clears your progress.
Return using the same browser and website address to continue. Your IP address is not used to identify you or restore answers. Browser settings, private browsing or clearing website data can prevent or remove saved progress. Downloaded and printed summaries are separate copies that you manage yourself.
Access, correction and privacy concerns
To ask about information held by HP, request access or correction, withdraw optional consent or raise a privacy concern, call 1300 137 760 and ask for HP’s Privacy Officer. We may need to verify your identity and authority before providing information or changing records.
We aim to acknowledge requests and complaints within three business days and provide a substantive response within 30 calendar days, subject to applicable legal requirements. If more time is needed, we will explain the next steps. You may ask for an unresolved concern to be escalated to HP management.
For Council privacy matters, contact the Coordinator Governance on (03) 9278 4471 or boroondara@boroondara.vic.gov.au. Council’s statement explains its access, correction and complaint processes.

Website analytics, access and external links
HP Energy may use website analytics to understand how visitors find and use the BooST website, improve its information and navigation, and evaluate interest in the program. Depending on the tools enabled, this may include pages visited, links selected, time spent on pages, referral sources, device and browser information, and IP addresses.
Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies. Usage information may be processed by service providers subject to HP’s privacy safeguards and required Council approvals. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, although this may not prevent all website measurement.
Saving questionnaire progress on your device remains optional. Hosting services may process technical and access logs, including IP addresses, to operate and protect the website.
Links to Council, Solar Savers and other providers open their websites. Read the relevant provider’s privacy information before entering details there.
